Fun at the airport, but not so much on the plane!

Our travels began last night at 6:30 when we departed home after a day of packing and visiting with the Burr's. It was a big help to have Sherry there as she helped to get Tailor and Tucker organized-Tailor especially! Our chauffer "James" and his wife Verna got us to the airport in plenty of time to get checked in. The reason I refer to dad as "James" is that mom referred to our chauffer James at one point during the ride and this completely threw Tailor and Tucker for a loop-they wondered where this James was driving us to and why. Definitely Chad's children-lol!

We then had our incident in the security area that some of you may have read about already with the man and his cat. This fellow had carried this cat through the airport and into the security area in a pet travel bag, which of course made complete sense. All of a sudden, Tailor notices a comotion behind her. It is "cat man" and he is about to enter the body scanner with the cat in his arms. Of course the security people ask him nicely to be put his cat back into her carry-on bag, to which them man refuses. They ask again to no avail which leads to one of them speaking very loudly and firmly to the man saying, "Sir, put the down the kitty!" The man finally complies after a short stare-off between him and the very patient security people. So lesson to all, don't take your kitty out at the airport and especially in the security area!

When we got to the airport and checked in, we were informed that somehow Tailor was not sitting with the rest of us which caused her to have some issues with the whole idea of flying across the big water with no one by her side that she knew. This issue could not be resolved as the flight was full, so I took her ticket and had the pleasure of sitting between two guys that were complete strangers. This does not make for the most comfortable of situations, not to mention that we were all physically uncomfortable as the plane had very tight seating. The flight lasted 7 hours 45 minutes and it was fairly smooth. Once we got Chad unfolded we made our way into Helsinki airport where we had a 2 hour layover, which gave is a chance to eat a small snack. Our last leg of the journey was our 45 minute flight back to Stockholm, which we had already flown over.

Considering the length of our journey and the time of day that is was everyone managed to stay in pretty good humor. We finished the day off with supper at a restaurant in the plaza that was joined to our hotel, the people there were very good to help us to order as we obviously do not speak swedish.

Off to bed now! I am absolutely exhausted. Hopefully the pictures that I have picked to add from the day upload!
