Today we visited Kiki's cottage. This cottage was first built by her parents many years ago and she has continued to add and change the buildings. The buildings are without hydro. It is on the shores of Lake Siljan(pronounced Lake Sil-yan). It is the 6th biggest lake in Sweden and the water yesterday was as smooth as glass. Kiki made us a delicious lunch made up of pasta salad, bread and blueberry muffins. The building you see above is the cookhouse. The photo below has us seated in the dining area of the same building.
The kids enjoyed boating on the lake in the paddle boat. The water was so smooth and it seemed so odd to me because there we no boats out on the water.
Once we left there we drove around Lake Siljan to go home. We stopped at Rattvik to walk the pier there. The Pier is about 1 km long, all the boards on it were sponsored by companies or individuals-every board had the sponsors name engraved in it.
While we were there Johan talked with a guy using a Jet Ski. The man invited Johan to try it. So down to his underwear he went and he gave it a try.
We had our first family picture taken on the pier as well.
We finished the day back at the Stenis house with a great bbq dinner. We had roasted potatoes, marinated pork and chicken, vegetables with salsa and lastly a yummy, raspberry whip cream biscuit dessert.
